Innovation grants by International Labour Organization
- The ILO's Microinsurance Innovation Facility launches a new call for grant proposals to promote microinsurance projects that utilize
technology and process innovations. The facility will select applicants
that propose to use technology and other innovations to create
operational efficiencies and/or allow organizations to serve large
numbers of poor households. The focus is not just on technology, but
also on process changes that can help in the efficient scaling up of
operations.
- The facility is looking for a diverse portfolio of grants across the developing world, with a focus on Africa, Asia and latin America.
Organizations eligible for grants include: risk carriers, delivery
channels, and suppliers to the insurance industry. Priority is given to
voluntary products for which there is a significant demand yet
insufficient supply, including health, agriculture, property, and
accumulating value life or disability products.
- Application includes applicant information (form), project overview (form), project descriptions (9 essay questions with each max length of
2000-4000 words), and required appendices. Applications must be
submitted online by 17:00 Central European Time, 25 January 2011. Prizes
include three to five large grants (between us$100,000 and us$500,000),
and four or five small grants (less than us$100,000). For more details
