I have just added this series of
videos in the video section on this topic.
After Prof. Yunus at Clinton Global Initiative last month, now Vikram Akula, Founder of SKS takes on Alex Counts, CEO of Grameen Foundation in an Asia Society organized debate in New York recently. Vikram joined via video conference as apparently he was asked to stay back in India by courts.
Vikram also released a book "A fistful of rice" recently narrating his and SKS story. You can read the
book review here. Sounds like Vikram Akula has to do a lot of explanation to defend his efforts in trying to cross-breed "private gains with public good". I think he is not being sincere in his defense. He himself must be a bit guilty of the fortune he ended up making but money is such a bad thing that it can even make a saint commit sin. What is VIkram Akula after all.
Please watch the video and read the review and leave your comments.
