Association Development

The Association Development Community of Practice convenes the largest global community of microfinance associations (52 microfinanceassociations, or 74%, are SEEP members). Microfinance associations play a powerful role in advancing the industry and focusing on the growth and development of their leadership is one of the most strategic investments that can be made in the sector. The Association Development CoP strengthens their operational, technical and financial capacity through peer-to-peer learning and exchanges, capacity assessments, strategic planning,management training, thought leadership and product development. How we work:

As the first organization to develop a strategic framework for strengthening the microfinance sector through association leadership, SEEP implements institutional strengthening activities and develops practical tools and resources in four areas:

• Organizational Effectiveness: Strengthening microfinance associations through six areas of organizational effectiveness.
• Membership Services: Improving association products and service offerings to members in their markets.
• Standardsand Indicators: Developing and promoting standards of excellence for microfinance associations.
• Global Community: Providing opportunities for practitioners to come together in a global learning community.
