- Anil Maurya a RTI activist resides in S-8/45, Purani chungi, PS-
Shivpur, Varanasi U.P. India. His father and mother are physically
Challenged, he is running a mobile shop in his house for his
Livelihood. He is married and he have only one 14th month old son.
Two years before he booked cooking gas cylinder for him, but he didn’t
Get more then 2 month. When he didn’t get cooking gas cylinder for
Long time then on 6th February 2010 he file a RTI to public
Information officer in Indian oil limited in Lucknow through
Registered post. After three weeks on 22-3-2010 local cooking gas
Agency “Vashno gas agency” owner along with his three staff came to
His shop and promise him in future he will get his gas cylinder on
Time but he has to get back his RTI or he should give him a letter
There he accept, he received his seeking information. And they also
Threaten him. On next day 23rd March 2010 Anil Maurya received reply
Of his RTI. After this incident he didn’t face any crises of gas
Cylinder anymore. So he started help other peoples to tell his story
And help them to write RTI as he did it. When hundred of peoples
Start complaining and every one fallowing Anil Maurya’s suggestions,
And every day 5 to 10 peoples coming to his shop and he is helping
Them to sent complain to Indian Oil company. Because of his help he
Becomes very popular in his area.
During same time there Vashnow Gas agency trying to stop Anil activism
So they disconnected his gas connection, and they told him “all c/o
(care of) connection is disconnected so yours also”. So I apply for
New connection from my father’s name. After long time and struggle
Finally I get my connection form my father’s name. These are the
Harassment done by these gas agencies owners against Anil Maurya but
He continues his fight against this corrupt gas mafias.
On 15th June 2011 again Anil Maurya sent another RTI to Public
Information officer, executive director, Indio Oil, Mumbai and he
Asked information in 8 points. Out of 8 point, In Point no. 3 of his
RTI he ask to physically check local gas agencies gas booking and
Delivery register as well as register of last three month detail of
Gas cylinder those gas agency received from gas battling plant.
On 5th July 2011, public information officer from Indian Oil Mumbai
Informed that, his request was forwarded to the Lucknow office for
Further proceedings. Again on 26th July 2011 Anil received another
Letter from Indian oil and stated that for his point 3 of his RTI, he
Should contact assistant manager seals, LPG seals Mr. Sudhir Kumar
Jain, and rest of the information of his RTI was not correct and
Proper those he asked. So Anil Maurya writes appeal to the National
Information Commission regarding his RTI and for point 3 of his RTI
Anil sent a letter on 5th August 2011 to Mr. Sudhir Kumar Jain and
Requested for visit to the gas agencies.
Mr. Sudhir Kumar Jain gives permission letter on 12th August 2011 to

August 2011 Anil Maurya went to the Vashno gas agency and check their
Registers and he found during 14th May 2011 to 10th August 2011 total
Booking of the gas was 39369 and gas was only deliver to 38000
Consumers, but they received 41449 gas cylinder from Indian gas
Bottling plant.
Anil Maurya also went to another gas agency named “Rajshree gas
Agency” on 8th October 2011 and he found, gas was booked 43820 and
Only 42806 was delivered but they only received 42792 cylinder. How
They delivered 14 extra cylinders? They didn’t answer.
