Is the level of housing loans by domestic banks and micro finance institutions to lower income deciles measured?

How best can I get data on housing loans targeting lower income deciles (going from the 30th down to the 80th deciles of the poverty pyramid)

I would like to start baseline from 2008-2009 then estimates for 2010-2011 in following Countries

Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana

Dear Peter,

Thank you very much for the comment. I am quite new in this area but very much interested to gather data related to pro poor housing and basic infrastructure in urban areas, other examples from more advanced countries might help in doing so and avoid re-inventing the wheel.

I am also interested to know more about the value chain annalysis in the housing sector and will appreciate it very much if you could advice on some sources for information.

Kind regards
Ives

Dear Colleagues

Interesting question ... it would be good to have this information or something similar in respect of the housing finance business in the United States.

I would also argue that these data do not get really interesting until they are associated with value chain analysis to see how is profiting and who is not in the whole set of transactions associated with the housing finance. Because this value chain analysis rarely gets done with any robustness, the conclusions reached from simple datasets are not always valid.
