Volunteer Opportunity: September 11-13, 2012
Making Cents International welcomes young professionals and graduate students to volunteer at this year’s Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference, which will take place at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Conference Center in Washington, DC September 11-13, 2012.
Volunteer Obligation and Opportunity
Volunteers are asked to assist with logistics for 1.5 days of the conference in exchange for being able to attend 1 full day of the conference as a delegate. Volunteers are also required to attend a 2 hour volunteer training session on the afternoon of September 10th. Successful volunteers are: minimum 21 years old, committed, responsible and friendly with good communication skills.
Background
Making Cents’ annual Global Youth Economic Opportunity conference is the premiere global conference on increasing economic opportunities for young people. Each year it attracts 400- 500 practitioners, leading policymakers, funders, educators, and researchers who work in international development from more than 50 countries and is held in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank. This year’s conference agenda features 120 world-class speakers from 25 countries. Conference participants will exchange their expertise and experience through the conference’s 5 learning tracks:
1. Workforce Development
2. Financial Services and Capabilities
3. Enterprise Development
4. Adolescent Girls and Young Women
5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment
